Professional and continuing studies

Estimating, quoting and job-costing for tradespeople moving into supervision, estimating or running their own shop.

Areas of study

Programs offered

Apex specializes in the metal and structural trades — the disciplines where a certified ticket and a Red Seal endorsement change what you are paid to do.

Professional and continuing studies

Become an estimator

The trade pays for what you can build. Estimating pays for what you can price. The Estimator Pathway takes the trade knowledge you already have and turns it into customer-ready takeoffs, quotes and job costs.

  • Estimating and takeoff workbooks you keep
  • Markup, margin and job-costing fundamentals
  • A portfolio piece to show an employer or a client

Student support

Built around working apprentices

Most people studying at Apex are already on the tools. The program is shaped around that rather than around a term calendar.

Start where you actually are

Buy the level you need rather than a whole program. Whatever level you buy unlocks the right to challenge that content and move up — you are never held back by a cohort.

Certification on your terms

In Canada, Apex links you to the governing body nearest you to challenge the exam. Studying from elsewhere, the Red Seal is entirely optional — the curriculum is yours either way.

How certification works

Answers before you commit

Enrolment, refunds, exam attempts and what happens when your access period ends — all set out plainly before you pay for anything.

Land acknowledgement

We acknowledge Treaty 6 territory

Apex Technical Training honours and acknowledges that the land on which we learn, work and live is Treaty 6 territory — the traditional lands of the nêhiyawak (Cree), Denesųłiné (Dene), Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Sioux (Stoney) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples, and a homeland of the Métis. We recognize the skill, craft and knowledge Indigenous peoples have carried on this land since long before the trades were formalized, and we are committed to making technical training accessible to Indigenous apprentices across Treaty 6 and beyond.
